Sublimation Printing

What is Sublimation Printing

Sublimation is a printing process which uses heat sensitive inks to permanently dye synthetic fabrics.
This gives a much softer feel to the garment, allows an “all over” print and enables unlimited amounts of
colour to be printed without affecting the cost. This method commonly seen in sporting team’s playing gear.
Picture footy or rugby jumpers with the full colour, all over printing.

Why Choose Sublimation

Sublimation printing is best utilized when a design requires an all over print which covers the entire garment as seen in below images, or when the design requires a high colour count (eg sponsor logos), sublimation can only be done on polyester fabric. If your design has a high colour count and/or you require a soft feel and you would prefer cotton, then Direct to garment is the best option for you. Sublimation printing carries a minimum of 20 garments.

Sublimation vs Screen printing & Direct to Garment

Sublimation can only be done on polyester fabric. If your design has a high colour count and/or you require a soft feel and you would prefer cotton, then Direct to garment or screen printing will be more suitable. Sublimation printing has become a very popular option for School leavers jumpers and polos.
